Is it possible at all typical of a crocodile in Houston, TX?

I am planning on moving to Houston in the near future and would like to have an extensive collection reptiles. During a recent visit, I spoke with the owner of a pet shop in Hockley, and he said he was the owner of many species of reptiles and domestic exotic as American alligators. If I live in Houston city limits, is there a permission that can be obtained in order to maintain an American alligator? Moreover, Houston has no laws prohibiting large constrictor or monitors?

American crocodiles can only be owned in Texas with a special permit, which is very difficult to obtain unless you're a zoo or other institution. There are no permits required to own alligators and crocodiles. However, most cities here in Texas, including Houston, have ordinances against property of the crocodiles, which does not allow the owner of them all within the city. So basically the only way to own an alligator is living in a small town or country. I have owned before alligators and lizards know people who now legally own and crocodiles.
