Please Help?!?

I found a small dog today huddling in a pile of leaves next to the creek that I live across the street from. I’m currently taking care of him, but I would really love to find the owner. Does anyone know of any websites that I could post a “found dog” listing at? I tried petharbor.com, but I couldn’t find any “lost dog” listings that fit his description. Does anyone know of any other websites?? PLEASE HELP! I can’t even imagine what i’d be going through if I lost my pet!

www.petfinder.com has a lost and found section. Also look to craig’s list, and your local paper. Most papers will list found ads for free. Call local radio stations, as well as the police and local shelters and rescues. Put up a found poster, but be sure you don’t give too much info. Make sure the person who claims the dog can tell you something aobut it that you haven’t advertised so as to be sure it IS the owner. Such as color of any collar, or an unusuallly shaped marking. One dalmatian I found was claimed by the owner when the owner told me about a marking I never even noticed…one of his spots was shaped just like a Mickey Mouse head and ears.
