What should I do to overcome the death of a pet?

My sisters little pet Yorkie 8 months old drowned last Friday, not the pool of water, but in the back of your pool tank at least 5 to 10 minutes. She had two and loved. Even would "kick" to her husband of the bed if expressed no resentment toward them sleep with her because she knew she wanted. Should I get another because the other case with grief the rest of our family, because Lennon was just "too nice". It can not be replaced, but what is a good thing to do?
