When a hotel is listed as "pet-free" and not, so if the laws are broken?

I work in the reception of the pet a "free" hotel. My GM, however, random allows people with pets stay. We are listed in several publications as "pet-free." I tried to explain, unsuccessfully, that if you have signs, then you can not allow pets in me would like to show what exactly the law says about this.
