Would you take the reward money?

I see all the time on TV that families and organizations offer rewards for missing persons or for information that solves other crimes. Example, there is a $225,000 reward for information that leads to the whereabouts of Caylee Anthony.
Just curious,if you were the person that gave this information and were eligible for the reward, would you take the money? Would it make a difference who was offering the money, such as a family who is putting up their life savings or from a big organization? If you would take it,would you donate it to charity or keep it for yourself? In what situations would you not take the money? What about a reward for finding someones lost articles, such as a wallet,a pet or jewelry?
My son and I were having this discussion last night. Was just interested in what other people’s views are. Thanks.

Dang, that’s a tough question! Part of me would say yes, that I would take the money regardless of source, because I’m not likely to come by that amount anytime soon. If it was someone’s life savings, or whatever, I’d probably just accept a token reward – $1000 or something. If it were offered by a wealthy person, and I could help them by providing information, I would have no qualms about accepting the entire amount, regardless of size. I try to do what good I can, but I wouldn’t turn around and donate any portion of it to charity unless I was really sure of how it would be used. There are just too many scam organizations out there, and even the good ones spend donations frivolously. I mean, I can spend money frivolously without any help, righ?

I recently returned a wallet I found, and refused to accept a reward, because it was just the right thing to do. Where do you draw the line on that?
