What should I do about this pet shop?

I bought a guinea pig from pet land discount 3 weeks ago with everything it needed. Shes an Abyssinian guinea pig and we love her so much now. Well now i have to give her back to the pet store because i found this bump on her with hair missing around the bump. I notice her scratching it and then i started looking it up on the net.I think she may have mites. Anyway I called the pet shop and told them what happened and they were on some defensive mood,”that she didnt get it from their shop because all animals get checked by a vet before being sent to the shop” (BLAH BLAH)and i kept saying “YES IT DID,YOU SOLD IT TO ME THIS WAY!” so now im not only sad but pissed off cause they dont want to give us our money back but give us another guinea pig.I just want my money back. I dont know what im going to do tomorrow. Any advice????

three weeks is a long time for something like this to go unnoticed. If your guinea pig had mites (or anything else) from the shop, you would have noticed within a few days.

I know your upset with the shop, but it doesn’t really sound like they can do anything for you. Keep in mind that you have had your guinea pig for three weeks now, not only are you bonded with it, but it is bonded with you. By giving him back to the pet shop would be a cruel thing to do.

One thing that happens when you buy pets is that they do, from time to time, get sick, and part of being a responsible owner to your pet is being able to take them to the vet when they are ill.

My advice to you is to keep your pet, take him to the vet and get him checked out, and lastly, call the pet shop back and apologize. Three weeks is too long for something that they did to show up.
