What is a cool aquatic or partially-aquatic pet i can have in a 50-55 gallon tank?

Please dont suggest any fish or turtles, i already have a fish tank, but i’m not allowed to own a turtle. My friend is getting a newt tank and is bragging about it a lot: i have been looking for a new pet(or pets) and figured i could find one that would one-up his newts and bring me some happiness watching them. Any good ideas?

i’m not sure on one-upping newts – pets is about preferences…
and i think theres a good few aquatic pets that are cooler than newts

aquatic things arent the only thing you can keep in tanks though – they are perfect for many many lizards, other amphibians, snakes and arthropods
