How to remove “dog smell” from house?
I have 3 dogs. I am going to be moving to a place that has carpet. The last time I had a place with carpet, the house always smelled like dogs and I could not get the smell out. I am NOT referring to pee/poo smells, just dog smell.
I tried vacuuming, air fresheners, Nature’s Miracle, Febreeze, etc.
Please offer advice as to how to prevent dog smell from taking over my new place (specific products, brands, etc). Also, please recommend an affordable pet hair vacuum because mine always gets jammed by hair really fast. Thanks!
I can’t rip up the carpet because it is a rental
We splurged on a Dyson for the pet hair. It’s got a lifetime warranty, but has yet to clog up. As for the dog smell, daily vacuuming with Arm&Hammer baking soda has worked well for us. We also keep the dogs out of the one carpeted area of our home as much as possible. I’d suggest ripping up the carpet and putting tile down to truley eliminate the odor.
