Fun game for tweens to play?

Hi i want to find a game that i can play with my friends online so it has to be free (no memberships etc.) and not a download game. I like games like club penguin, runescape and petville/pet society, but to play properly you need to pay…
I don’t like farmville or anythng that you have to wait (to grow etc.) or come back at a specific time and stuff like that.
I just wanna come and have some fun, gain levels, chat, play minigames and make my character better after homework and school.
