Does anyone know anything about the adoptions of pets from Cameroon, Nigeria?

Recently I have been seeing the ads online in my local newspaper on a number of purebred puppies for sale in the newspaper. I have contacted some of them for more information on the puppies and so far the three of them have given me some story or another to be in this area and then having to go to Cameroon, Nigeria (one said he had to because of his dying daughter, one said he was in Catholic ministry and went to Cameroon, and one said he was in the army) and all were free, except that would pay for a plane trip for the pups to get from there to here and was wondering if anyone knew anything about this. It seems to be a scam to me, so I'm not going to go with her, but was just curious. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Sounds like another variation 411 of the Nigerian scam. There are a lot of puppies here in the U.S., is a dont need in Africa. Also to get one from a foreign country is actually a pretty process, with them having to go through a long quarantine and such. No let himself be caught by this scam.
